We met Westerly, Rhode Island-based artist and musician Sean Spellman at one of our favorite festivals, Mercado Sagrado. We admired his minimalist yet playful collection of paintings, and he admired (and bought a pair of) Mohinders. Soon after, he had the brilliant idea of using a heated tool to burn his designs into the upper of our slides. He gave it a try…and it worked!
We’ll release 25 pairs of Sean Spellman x Mohinders City Clippers in this limited collaboration. Each pair is a unique composition featuring Sean’s signature depictions—a rolling sea, a golden sunset, traditional abstractions in minimalist forms.
Pairs are made-to-order and will take a minimum of a two weeks between ordering to arrival.

Runs true to size. Round up if you're a half size.
Don't worry if they feel like they're slipping off at first; within a few wears the leather will form to your feet and they'll stay on.
Slides fit true to size, take your normal shoe size.
If you are normally a half size, take one size up. For example, if you’re normally a 9.5, order a 10.
Once you put a few miles on them the toe box and footbed will mold to your foot for the perfect fit.

The same kind of leather has been used to make shoes in Athani for generations. It’s tanned using just a few ingredients: water, acacia tree bark, and myrobalan (the nut of a Terminalia chebula tree). Every piece of leather is infused with myrobalan, which is also a natural dye; when mixed with iron, myrobalan reacts to create a deep black. So, we can simply dip our shoe leather in water + with iron for a colorfast black dye that won’t fade or rub off.
We believe in products with a sense of place. Mohinders are made by master shoemakers in Athani, India, whose designs are iconic to the surrounding region: Northern Karnataka. Follow our off-the-beaten-path journey through Karnataka’s red-rock climbing walls, cave temples, and outdoor sandal markets along the way.
