Abbas, mohinders’ man in India, has just finished a trip to the village where he was checking on production. The great news is that all is looking good for a May delivery date, as originally promised. More great news is that Abbas barely made his train back to Mumbai...he arrived at the train station 8 minutes before the train left. That's cutting it pretty darn close!
Quick insight into the production process: after obtaining the bag-tanned water buffalo leather, the thinner pieces of this leather are cut into strips for the upper using one of the very few machines (this one has to be hand-cranked!) used by the artisans (as seen in the photo below).
